More progress is being made on the future running trail at Aterro Recreational Park thanks to Jacksonville University Students. A big group of JU Exercise Science, cross-country, and NROTC students laid railroad ties on a 1/4 mile portion the trail and picked up a lot of trash on a volunteer work day this week. So far, JTC Running has donated $125,000 towards the construction of the running trail. Aterro Park sits on the site of a former landfill along Sunbeam Road. When the trail is completed it will be an outstanding place to run. SORBA Jax has already created several mountain bike trails at the site.
