PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The Friends of the GTM Reserve was recently presented with a check for $1,000 from JTC Running, the largest running club in northeast Florida. The donation was presented by JTC Running President Larry Roberts with Friends of the GTM Reserve Executive Director Ellen Leroy-Reed accepting. Franz Lerch, Guana Trail Run race director, John Reed, Friends board president, and board members Mary Finnan, Sherry David, Tatum Theodore and Chuck Snavely were also on hand.
“As a welcome contributor to Friends of the GTM Reserve, JTC Running has helped us support, enhance and improve environmental education, stewardship of natural and cultural resources, and scientific research at the reserve,” said Friends Executive Director, Ellen Leroy-Reed.
Now in its 47th year, JTC Running has held Guana Back to Nature Trail Race at GTM Research Reserve (GTM) for the past 10 years. They also make a contribution in appreciation of using the trail system at GTM. The race’s focus is for people to get out and enjoy the area.
“One of JTC’s missions is to provide worthy running events in northeast Florida,” remarked Larry Roberts, JTC Running president.
