JTC Running awarded more local high school runners than ever with scholarships to attend summer running camps, announced JTC Running President Larry Roberts. In an annual tradition, local deserving high school runners apply for JTC Running scholarships to attend North Carolina, Georgia and Florida training camps with their teams. This year 33 deserving students from ten schools received scholarships totaling $13,200 according to Roberts. Three of them were paid by contributions to the Terry Sikes Memorial Fund.
“We’re excited to provide assistance to help develop the next generation of runners,” Roberts said. “We had more applications than ever before and we are pleased to make this a reality for so many of our talented and promising young runners.”
