3rd ANNUAL TERRY SIKES MEMORIAL BEACH RUN 
Friends and Family, in partnership with JTC Running, invite you to join us as we celebrate Terry Sikes with the 3rd Annual Terry Sikes Memorial Run.
Terry’s commitment to family, friends, and community was so strong that we strive to honor this extraordinary man. He was quiet about his contribution to humanity. Humble, yet proud.
Run/Walk open to all. No particular distance, no particular pace – though we will have water at 1.5 mile turn around. We will begin together in our most colorful running attire. Shoes optional.

Four runners will attend camp this summer thanks to your contributions in 2014! This scholarship offers the opportunity for local high school athletes with good academics to attend a one week summer running camp. The more money raised, the bigger the opportunity for our local, young athletes.

Help us get pumped up for this year’s Summer Beach Run with a fun run and social at Title Sponsor Tijuana Flats Lakewood store at 6:00 PM, Monday, August 10. After the fun run enjoy a social with discounted beer!
Also available will be signup for the five mile race at Jacksonville Beach August 22 provided by 1st Place Sports.
Last year this kickoff event was a huge party. Come out this year and we will do it again!
** We will have 3 girls/womens races and 3 boys/mens races
** The course will be all on grass
** Each loop will be 500m approx — everyone in the JV races stays in for at least 3-4 laps (1500m–2000m) and everyone in the varsity race stays in for 5-6 laps (2500m — 3000m) – (with the exception of any runner who is just too far off the pace; we will pull him/her sooner)
** After that, we will have the option of eliminating the runners who are falling off the pack. That option could range from not eliminating anyone on the 4th lap (because they are all still together) to eliminating up to ten on the 6th lap (because they have fell too far back from the main pack).
The number we eliminate will depend on the number of the main pack and the number of stragglers who have fell off from the main pack.
** As the “race” unfolds the goal is to eliminate runners who fall off the main pack until we are left with a small group – anywhere from maybe 4-6 going into last lap.
** We will have a zone area at the finish line that the leaders must remain in that zone area until the last runner has crossed a mark which will be about 100m or so before finish line (goal posts at San Jose side of field) – as soon as the last runner has crossed that marker the leaders can begin the next lap.
***** However, we have the right to change and make up rules as we go along – because in an event like this we need to be somewhat flexible.
Schedule –
Boys Varsity starts at 7:30 AM – up to 10 laps, 5000m
Girls Varsity starts at 7:55 AM – up to 10 laps, 5000m
Boys JV (older JV runners) – 8:20 am – up to 8 laps, 4000m
Girls JV (older JV runners) – 8:40 am – up to 8 laps, 4000m
Boys JV (newer JV runners) – 9:00 am – up to 6 laps, 3000m
Girls JV (newer JV runners) – 9:20 am – up to 6 laps, 3000m
** the times after the first race are approx.; we will go on a rolling schedule after the Boys Varsity race
**Distances are also approx.
** Coaches: please try to have at least 7 runners in the varsity races (obviously you can have more if you wish)
**Please keep in mind that the 3k races are meant for newer (slower) runners who will have difficulty with the pace and distance of the 4k races.
The Forever Jaiden Foundation, Inc., is in honor of my 9 year-old daughter, Jaiden, who passed away from cancer in 2012. We are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that supports siblings of children affected by cancer.
We serve these remarkable children and their parents by providing, at no-cost:

• Academic Tutoring and Achievement Awards
• Parent Workshops and Family Recreational Activities
On September 20, 2015—Jaiden’s birthday, we are hosting our inaugural Forever Jaiden Foundation 5K Walk & Run at Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park, with 100% of proceeds benefiting local families of children with cancer.
Did you know that every night in Jacksonville about 3,000 men, women and children are homeless? That is a staggering number. If you are reading this newsletter, you are probably not one of them. – our membership is generally pretty well off! I’ve seen the fancy running cloths and shoes you wear!
So, why not take some time to give back to our community? At JTC, we are committed to making Jacksonville a better place to live. And serving those who need a hand is a great way to do it. The Sulzbacher Center is an incredible resource for the homeless and not only offers meals 7 days a week, 365 days a year, they provide health care, children programs, job placement, and life skill programs. They are truly helping folks restore their lives.
We are seeking about 12 volunteers to cook and serve dinner at the Sulzbacher Center, Saturday, Nov. 14th.
Absolutely no experience needed! Just bring your positive energy and willing hands, as well as any gently used running shoes you would like to donate to Sulzbacher residents.
Cooking shift is from 3:00pm-5:30pm; serving shift is from 5:30pm-7:00pm (you can select one or both shifts).
Stanton Athletics is excited to present this inaugural 5K event to benefit the construction of a new track at the Stanton campus. Despite having state champion athletes on the Track & Field team for several years, Stanton does not have a facility suitable for practices and hosting meets.
The race will be held Saturday, November 14th at 3 pm on the beach (Jacksonville Beach).
We invite you to join us in supporting these efforts as a participant or official race sponsor. Stanton College Prep has students from the entire Northeast Florida area which assures your exposure will be broad and worth the investment!
